Lady Dons Overpower Cal State Fullerton 5-2 In Women's Tennis

(San Francisco) - USF women's tennis dispatched Cal State Fullerton 5-2 Sunday in non-conference action at Golden Gate Park. The Lady Dons lost all three doubles matches, but quickly regrouped and won five of the six single matches. With the win USF improves to 2-2 on the season. Fullerton's lone singles win came at number four. USF's Gabi Ruiz won at number one 6-4, 6-3, Caroline Tweeton won 6-2, 6-0, while Carey Savage won at three 7-5, 7-6 (7-4). Michelle Duncan also won for the Lady Dons at five, while Nikki Kobayashi battled through an injury to win at number six 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. USF returns to action when they host Utah on Wednesday, Feb. 13. USF 5, Cal State Fullerton 2 DOUBLES: 1. Rocha/Jacob (CSF) defeated Ruiz/Skogerboe (USF) 9-8 2.
