USF Defeats UC Davis 7-2 in Women's Tennis

DAVIS, Calif.--- The University of San Francisco defeated UC Davis 7-2 in a non-conference women's tennis match Friday afternoon at Hickey Courts in Davis.
USF came out strong in doubles play, taking two of three matches. Megan Ties and Gabriela Ruiz got things going with an 8-4 win. Anna Skogerboe and Michelle Duncan then made it 2-0 with an 8-6 win.
In singles play, the Dons benefited from three three-set victories to take five of six matches to close out the win. USF won at the top five spots, with Ruiz leading the way at No.3 with a 6-2, 6-0 win. Tiegs posted a 7-5, 6-4 win at No.2, but the remaining three matches went the distance. At the top spot, Pamart rallied for a 6-1, 5-7, 7-6 (7-1) win while Ferreira De Almedda Laranjihna came from a set down to win her match 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Skogerboe closed out the match with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win at No.5.
Up next for USF is UC San Diego, the #20 ranked team in Division II women's tennis. The match takes place at Golden Gate Park and starts at 11:00 AM.
