Women's Tennis Falls to Nevada 5-2

(Reno, NV) - San Francisco women's tennis fell to Nevada 5-2 on Friday evening at Lakeridge Tennis Club. USF falls to 3-6 on the season, while Nevada improves to 4-4.
No. 65 Jennifer-Lee Heinser earned the first win for the Dons on the day. The junior defeated Reno's Maria Mizyuk in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. Freshman Melinda Akerbrant earned the Dons second win, taking a 4-6, 7-5, 6-1 victory over Lais Ogata in the No. 4 spot. Freshman Yurie Hashiguchi gave her opponent a run for her money, taking Sophie Stevens to three sets before falling 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Reno swept the doubles point.
USF returns to action on Saturday, meeting Texas Tech at Reno.
