Dons Beat By Waves, 6-1

MALIBU, CALIF. - The #17 Pepperdine women's tennis team proved too much for San Francisco as the Dons lost 6-1 to the Waves Thursday afternoon at the Ralphs-Straus Tennis Center.

Pepperdine (6-3) won for the fifth time in its last six matches, while the Dons fell to 3-5.

Continuing an impressive 2008, Jenni Heinser improved to 8-0 in singles with a three set win, 1-6, 6-4, 11-9; over No. 81 Bianca Dulgheru. Jessy Mekpoh also brought her competitor, Tania Rice, to three sets at No. 6 but ultimately lost by a close score, 7-5, 5-7, 12-10.

San Francisco heads to UC Irvine tomorrow for a 1:30 p.m. PT dual.
