(San Francisco) - USF women's tennis continued to roll seizing a 6-1 non-conference women's tennis victory against Bay Area rival San Jose State Tuesday at Golden Gate Park. With the victory, the Lady Dons improve to a perfect 8-0 heading into a crucial West Coast Conference match on Thursday.

San Francisco won the doubles point and then fought through four three-set matches in singles play to improve to 2-0 against the Spartans this season. USF number one Gabi Ruiz bounced back after dropping the first set 2-6, for a 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 victory against Noelle Lee. Anna Skogerboe defeated Ana Lukner 3-6, 7-6 (0), 6-2 at number two, while Carey Savage also needed three sets to dispatch Coral Silverstone 6-0, 6-7 (6), 6-4.

Beate Bernhoft cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of K. Grant at number four, while Michelle Duncan remained perfect in singles play at number five with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win against Kathy Van.

USF hosts the Pilots Thursday in WCC action at the Olympic Club. Match time is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
