USF Women's Tennis Falls to Davidson 5-2

SAN FRANCISCO-The USF women's tennis team (4-4) lost to the Davidson Wildcats 5-2 Friday at Golden Gate Park. The loss snaps the Lady Don's three match winning streak. Davidson (7-6) swept the doubles matches and took four of the six singles matches to secure the victory.
In doubles action, the Davidson duo of Kelly and Meghan Fillnow beat Camille Pamart and Joane Laranjihna 8-3 at the #1 position to key the doubles sweep.
In singles action, Pamart beat Kelly Fillnow 7-6 (3), 6-0 at the #1 slot and Laranjihna was able to take care of Meghan Fillnow 6-3, 5-7, 10-5 in the #3 position. Davidson took advantage of strong performances from Meggie Patterson, Lindsey Powel, Kate Levitt, and Katherine Hatch. All four won in singles competition for the Wildcats.
Next up for the Lady Dons is a West Coast Conference showdown with Saint Mary's in Moraga on Tuesday. The match is scheduled to start at 3:00 PM.
