USF Women's Tennis Knocks of Saint Mary's 4-3

SAN FRANCISCO-The USF women's tennis team was able to come back to beat Saint Mary's after being behind most of the match at the Korth Tennis Complex in Moraga Tuesday afternoon. The Dons were down 3-1 early in the afternoon but rallied off three straight singles matches to capture the win 4-3 and split the regular season series with the Gaels.
In doubles action, the Gaels won the first two matches at the #1 and #3 position, with the Dons getting their lone victory from the team of Megan Tiegs and Gabi Ruiz. Tiegs and Ruiz knocked off Dunya Stankovic and Megan Schulman 8-4.
In singles action, Camille Pamart won at the #1 position, beating Aude Lambert 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. Joana Laranjinha, Anna Skogerboe, and Michelle Duncan also picked up singles victories to help spearhead the comeback for the Dons.
The win improves USF's record to 6-3, while the Gaels fall to 2-9 on the year.
The USF women's tennis team will now head to New England, where they will play five matches in six days, starting with a match at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut on Monday, March 15th. They will then head to Storrs, Connecticut to take on the University of Connecticut Tuesday, March 16th. Then it's off to Boston to take on Boston University, Boston College, and Harvard.
