Women's Tennis Falls at Santa Barbara

(Santa Barbara) - The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team defeated San Francisco 6-1 today at UCSB's RecCen Courts. The Gauchos started strong and never looked back. UCSB swept all the doubles matches to win the doubles point then went on to win five of the six singles matches. Uzma Khan defeated USF's Gabi Ruiz 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for her 14th straight win of the season. Khan is 14-0 in dual match play and 24-2 overall. She has not lost a game since October. The Gauchos are now 10-4 on the season and are enjoying a four-match winning streak. USF falls to 10-2. USF's lone victory came at number four singles where Beate Bernhoft defeated Leslie Damion 6-4, 7-6. San Francisco looks to snap their two match losing streak Saturday when they take on Gonzaga in West Coast Conference action.
