USF Women's Tennis Defeats UConn 4-3

STORRS, CT.-The USF women's tennis team continued its road trip through New England Tuesday afternoon, beating the University of Connecticut 4-3 in Storrs. The Dons got the Doubles point with two victories and won three of the six singles matches to secure the match.
In doubles action, the freshman duo of Camille Pamart and Joana Laranjihna held on to beat Whitney Simick and Alison Adamski 8-6. The #3 team of juniors Michelle Duncan and Anna Skogerboe swept Ashley Petruzzi and Christine Burek 8-0.
In singles action, Pamart made quick work of Simick at the #1 position, winning 6-1, 6-1. Senior Gabi Ruiz needed three sets to knock off Barbara Schumsky 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the #3 slot. Skogerboe picked up her second win of the day in the #5 position, handling Burek in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.
The victory takes USF's record to 7-4 on the season. Connecticut falls to 2-7. USF will continue the east coast swing with a stop in Boston tomorrow, March 17th, to take on the Boston University Terriers. Match time has not been determined. Stay tuned to www.usfdons.com for details and results.
