Lady Dons Netters Beaten by Northridge

The Cal State Northridge women's tennis (11-6) team earned an impressive 7-0 win over visiting University of San Francisco (12-4) Wednesday at the Northridge Tennis Complex. Senior Tereza Simonyan extended her winning streak after a quick 6-0, 6-2 win over Gabi Ruiz on the No. 1 court. Simonyan's winning streak this season has reached 10. Simonyan is now 14-3 in singles play this season. Brittany Bierman, YuYu Myinttun and Olga Yepremian continued their winning ways as all three won their third-straight match. Bierman won the first set 6-4 and came out strong in the second set, winning the match 6-0 over Beate Bernhoft on the No. 4 court. Myinttun was victorious 6-1, 6-2 over Michelle Duncan while Yepremian outlasted Jill Radar at the No. 6 position 6-2, 4-6, 10-2. The Dons took a tough 8-6 doubles win at the No. 2 spot as the team of Beate Bernhoft and Carey Savage defeated Rani Setiawati and Yepremian. The Matadors will have little rest as they take on UTEP tomorrow at 2 p.m. The match will take place at the Northridge Tennis Complex.
