USF Women's Tennis Sweeps Southern Utah 7-0

(San Francisco) - USF women's tennis continued to roll with a 7-0 sweep of Southern Utah in non-conference action Saturday at the Olympic Club. With the in, USF improved to 13-4 on the season. After allowing just four points in doubles action, the Lady Dons continued to cruise in singles play. USF number one Gabi Ruiz defeated Katie Zobrist 6-3, 6-2, while Anna Skogerboe dropped the opening set before rolling past Andee Durrant 2-6, 6-0, 6-1. Carey Savage wasted little time at number three singles coasting to a 6-0, 6-1 win against Vanessa Kawasaki, while Beate Bernhoft downed Mandie Walker 6-2, 6-1 at number four. USF's Michelle Duncan continued her strong play with a 6-1, 6-0 win against Crystal Holt at number five, while Stephanie Chang completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at number six over Evie Larsen. San Francisco returns to action when they take on West Coast Conference rival Santa Clara Friday, March 28 at Golden Gate Park. Match time is scheduled for 2:00 PM.
