Lady Dons Drop 5-2 Decision to Portland

The USF women opened play in the UC Irvine Sproing Invitational Sunday by dropping a 5-2 decision to WCC rival Portland. USF won the doubles point, but only could capture one singles decision.
The Lady Dons took the doubles point as the team of Megan Tiegs and Gabriela Ruiz won 8-6 and Anna Skogerboe and Michelle Duncan won 8-2.
In singles, however, only Skogerboe was able to rally to win her match at the number five singles position.
