Dons Earn Fourth Place in 2005 UC Irvine Spring Invitational
(Irvine, CA) - USF women's tennis team (6-9, 2-3 WCC) took fourth place in the 2005 UC Irvine Spring Invitational with a 4-3 loss to New Mexico State this past Sunday.
The Dons captured three of their singles matches and one doubles match. At the number one position, sophomore Camille Pamart defeated Isabella Mignot 6-4, 6-3. In the fifth position, senior Anna Skogerboe defeated Anne Fagegaltier 6-2, 6-1, and in the sixth position, Pichaya Laosirichon beat Violaine Rollet 7-5, 6-1. USF's Emma Taylor in the number two position lost to Lejla Porobic 7-6, 6-1. In the other singles action, Megan Tiegs and Joanna Macedo lost to Fanny Rollet (6-2, 7-5) and Nicole Fintell (7-5, 7-5) respectively.
In doubles, Joanna Macedo and Camile Pamart teamed to beat Lejla Porobic and Sandra Mayr 8-4. Dons' Megan Tiegs and Anna Skogerboe lost to Aggie sophomores Nicole Fintell and Fanny Rollet (8-3). In the third position, Emma Taylor and Michelle Duncan lost their doubles match to Anne Fagegaltier and Isabelle Mignot 8-4.
The Dons next play San Jose State on April 5, 2005 at 2 pm in Los Gatos.
