Tigers Snap USF's Nine-Match Winning Streak, 4-3

(Srockton, CA) - The Pacific Women's Tennis team defeated USF 4-3 on Tuesday, April 16 in the final regular season match of the 2001-2002 campaign for the Lady Dons. San Francisco wraps up a successful campaign, although the Tigers snapped a nine-match winning streak. With the win, Pacific improves to 8-9 overall, while USF falls to 10-7 overall. Pacific seniors Susanne Bertel (Guentersleben, Germany) and Melinda Kocsis (Budapest, Hungary) each won singles matches in their final home match to lead the Tigers to victory. Freshmen Urska Dvorsek (Vojnik, Slovenia) and Lisa Lester (Henderson, Nev.) also won singles matches for Pacific, as the Tigers rallied after losing the doubles point.
