USF Women's Tennis Team Wins Fifth Straight Competition

The USF women's tennis team beat WCC opponent Portland Sunday afternoon in Golden Gate Park 4-3. The victory was the teams fifth in row and improved the teams overall record to 8-8.
The decisive match for the Dons came at the #3 singles position where sophomore Mylene Martin won 7-6 (3), 6-4 despite trailing 1-4 in the second set. Also winning in the singles matches were senior Camille Pamart over Megan Sporndli (6-1, 6-1), and juniors Jenny Sperry over Jenna Tanzer (6-4, 6-0) and Joana Macedo over Anna Gullickson (6-1, 6-1).
The Dons will look for their sixth straight victory when they return to action tomorrow afternoon against Cal Poly in Golden Gate Park at 1 pm.
