USF Women's and Men's Tennis Set for WCC Championships

San Francisco - The USF women's and men's tennis teams will be participating this weekend in the WCC Championships. The women's team will be traveling to San Diego and the men's team to Malibu. The Championships begin April 22 and continue through April 24.
On the USF women's team (7-10) senior Anna Skogerboe has won 10 of her 17 matches and sophomore Camille Pamart has posted a 10-6 record. Pamart has teamed with fellow sophomore Joana Macedo to record a 6-6 in doubles play while Skogerboe and partner freshman Pichaya Laosrichon have won 10 of their seventeen doubles matches.
Featured players on the men's team (10-10) include nationally ranked senior Pablo Pires de Almeida and freshman Philip Riise-Hansen who has won all 11 of his singles matches this year. In regular season doubles play, Pires de Almeida and Riise-Hansen teamed to win four of their five matches. Other newcomers on the horizon include freshmen Greg Hom and Falko Huettenberger. The team of Hom and sophomore William O'shea have won three of their four doubles matches as has the team of Huettenberger and sophomore Timo Kienle.
