Jenni Heinser Falls in First Round of NCAA Tournament

(College Station, TX) - Sophomore Jennifer-Lee Heinser, the only West Coast Conference sinlges player selected to the NCAA Tournament, fell in her first round match to Florida State freshman, No. 36 Noemi Scharle, at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center on the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
Scharle took the first set 6-4, before Hienser came back with a 6-4 victory of her own in the second set. But it wasn't enough as Scharle took the final set 6-2 to earn the match victory.
Heinser, the reigning WCC Player of the Year and current 60th ranked collegiate player, earned her second consecutive selection after posting a 16-3 dual record, and 23-8 overall in 2009. She was previously selected as a freshman last year after a 17-1 dual record, and 21-3 overall.
Scharle moves on to play the No. 1 seed, Maria Mosolova from Northwestern.
