(Davis, CA) - USF track competed in the opening day of the 2005 Independent Track and Field Championships, hosted by UC Davis Saturday at the Woody Wilson Track. Two Dons reached qualifying times in the preliminaries and advance to the finals on Saturday. Sophomore Renee Stribling placed fourth in the 800 meters at 2:15.94, while senior Stephanie Voelckers placed sixth in the 400 with a time of 0:58.89.

Senior Jeannine Hagedorn, who won the 5000 at the Sacramento State Open last week, headlines a strong San Francisco contingent in action Sunday, along with junior Ariana Morey and freshman Jen Hartford. Freshmen Ryan Courtwright and Cheyne Inman will run the 500 on the men's side Sunday as well.

Championship finals begin at 9:00 AM for the field events and the running events kick off at 10:30 AM.
