USF Volleyball Loses 3-1 at Pepperdine in WCC Action

(Malibu, CA) - San Francisco dropped a 3-1 decision at Pepperdine, 30-18, 17-30, 30-27, 30-18 Saturday night in West Coast Conference volleyball action at Firestone Fieldhouse. The Dons (9-16, 2-7 WCC) could not get much going against the Waves (7-12, 4-5 WCC) and hit .141 for the match.
Senior outside hitter Stephanie Voelckers recorded a team-high 13 kills to lead three Dons in double-figure kills and added 15 digs for her team-leading 13th double-double of the season. Junior opposite Jencie Lejeune equaled a career-high with 12 kills and four blocks, while junior middle blocker KeLicia Shorts tallied 11 to go along with a team-high seven blocks (two solo).
Sophomore setter Jamie Kartchner dished out 48 assists and added 12 digs, while freshman libero Brynn Maurer shared the team digs lead with sophomore outside hitter Theresa Hart with 16 apiece.
San Francisco could not slow down junior outside hitter Katy Daly, who pounded a match-high 22 kills to go along with 13 digs and a pair of solo blocks to lift the Waves, who hit .187 for the contest.
USF returns to WCC action when they host Gonzaga Friday, November 5. First serve against the Zags is scheduled for 7:00 PM at War Memorial Gym.
