Dons' Volleyball Sets Spring Schedule

San Francisco head women's volleyball coach Gilad Doran has announced his team's 2008 spring schedule. The Dons will open by hosting the USF Spring Tournament on April 12 followed by matches at Sacramento State on April 19 and at Santa Clara on May 3.
Bay Area squads, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, Stanford and Sonoma State, are slated to join the Dons at the April 12 tournament to be held at War Memorial Gym. Utilizing two-courts each team is scheduled to play in four contests beginning with USF versus Sacramento State and Saint Mary's versus Santa Clara at 9:30 a.m. The Dons will also compete versus Stanford at 10:30 a.m., Santa Clara at 1:30 p.m. and Sonoma State at 3:30 p.m. Competition will be interrupted at 12:30 p.m. for a one hour lunch break.
Each match will be two games to 25 with no deciding third game.
USF invites all to also attend the "Very Funny Fun Raiser" at the Purple Onion in San Francisco following tournament play. The event described as an evening of comedy, creative Italian hors d'oeuvres and camaraderie is set to start at 7 p.m. An admission fee of 50-dollars per guest should be sent to Julie Congi in the USF athletic department by April 4. In recognition of the spring kick-off, San Francisco will hold a team banquet on April 13 at the Cliff House.
