Doron Leads Team To Global Challenge

(San Francisco) - USF women's volleyball head coach Gilad Doron departed Monday for Europe, where he will be the head coach for the Northern California Volleyball Association High Performance team at the 2009 Global Challenge. Joining Doron on the trip will be the Dons' junior Sarah Mandala and senior Anna Berger.
The team departed from San Francisco Monday and will travel to Vienna, Austria and Maribor, Slovenia to train with the Slovenian Youth National Team. After three days of training, Doron and the team will travel to Pula, Croatia for the European Global Challenge. Once the tournament has ended, the team will travel to Venice, Italy before returning to Northern California on July 25.
The USF women's volleyball team will open the 2009 campaign August 28-29 at the Oregon Tournament in Eugene. The Dons will open the home slate of the schedule Sept. 4 as they host the USF Asics/Coca-Cola Challenge at War Memorial Gym.
