USF freshmen Joan Caloiaro and Malina Terrell will join 206 other collegiate volleyball players to participate in open tryouts for the U.S. Women’s National Team, U.S. Women’s National A2 Program and U.S. Women’s Junior National Team from Feb. 25-27 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Ko Hired As Assistant Coach for USF Volleyball Program
University of San Francisco volleyball coach Gilad Doron announced the hiring of Ken Ko to his staff as an assistant coach. This is a homecoming of sorts for Ko, who began his collegiate coaching career at USF in 2000 as a volunteer assistant coach. Ko is a Bay Area native and attended Skyline High School in Oakland.

The Dons began the day with a loss to Kansas by scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-18. Lipcomb bested USF later that afternoon in four sets: 25-20, 25-11, 24-26 and 25-21.

Four talented newcomers have signed National Letters of Intent (NLI) - 5-11 setter Joan Caloiaro (Saratoga, Calif./Archbishop Mitty), 5-8 outside hitter Rebecca Kopilovitch (Israel), 5-10 outside hitter Malina Terrell (Richmond, Calif./Salesian), and 6-1 middle blocker Caiti Wenger (Plano, Texas/Plano Senior).
