May 15, 2003 All I have to say at this point is WOW! The spring absolutely flew by! It has been such a great experience getting to know everyone at USF and learn more about this great University. The team has made our transition much smoother by stepping up and really taking ownership of the San Francisco Volleyball Program. I am thrilled with the commitment the University and the Athletics Department have made to our program. It has been so exciting to see the team, coaches and administration all on the same page. Bill Hogan and Sandee Hill have been visionary in their efforts to see the program advance. Each has made my job easier by being a friend and advisor throughout the transition. They have made to feel right at home here, clearing the way for our program to rise to new heights! The student-athletes have really been awesome in so many areas of the program. Each has taken on recruiting, working to improve with each new recruit we have brought in. I believe the team is excited about our potential and care deeply about who will be joining them in this adventure. The work ethic and efforts put forth in the classroom have truly been inspiring. This team is as solid academically as any I have coached. Practices have provided us a great opportunity to work with everyone on the team. It has been impressive to watch the way they have handled the changes. I am very happy with the results for every team member. Each will leave for the summer with some very lofty goals. It will also be a goal for the team to improve in the weight room. Great strides were made this spring! John White did an outstanding job moving the team forward with their fitness and strength. Kudos to Brian Moore, as well, it was great to have players in the gym, healthy and training hard! The past few months have been very rewarding. It has been invigorating to see the efforts everyone has put forth in this program. I want to say thanks to everyone here at USF for welcoming us and helping us learn the ropes here. A huge thanks goes out to Shawn for all of his efforts in recruiting, coaching and working so hard to raise the level of San Francisco Volleyball. Tiffany Baird also really helped us out with help in practices and provided help whenever she could. I would finally like to thank our families for allowing us to spend so much time and effort on San Francisco Volleyball. The things you do on our behalf are awesome...THANKS! The future is bright and the program is strong...so join us in a very exciting and rewarding ride into the new San Francisco Volleyball Program! Have a great summer!
