(Colorado Springs) - Former USF volleyball captain Linzy Kearney has signed a contract to play professional volleyball for R.C. Villebon in Paris, France for the 2008-2009 season. Kearney, a six foot outside hitter, is a 2004 graduate of William J. Palmer High School in Colorado Springs and a 2008 graduate of the University of San Francisco.

Kearney departs for Paris for pre-season training August 15. R.C. Villebon plays in the Pro A Women's National Volleyball League of France. Kearney's international experience includes playing on the 2007 USA University Team which toured Argentina and played six exhibition matches against the Argentinean National Team. She has also played in Slovenia, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, France, Croatia and Hungary.

A four-year letter-winner, Kearney played a key role on a record-setting Dons team that compiled the most wins in program history with a four-year tally of 70. Kearney recorded 282 career blocks during her career, good for a share of ninth place on the all-time list.
