(San Bruno) - Haley Carroll, a senior libero for the USF Volleyball team, has been named the West Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday. Carroll shares the weekly honor with Alaina Bergsma of Loyola Marymount.

Saturday, in the Dons 3-0 sweep of No. 22 San Diego, Carroll recorded 16 digs to propel her to 2,001 career digs. By reaching the 2,000 career dig plateau, Carroll became the first player in WCC history, and 45th player in NCAA Division I history to accomplish the feat.

For the weekend, the native of Gilroy recorded 33 digs as USF went 1-1. She also posted a service ace and two assists during the two matches.

The weekly honor is the second of the season for San Francisco and Carroll. Carroll previously earned the honor September 24. The accolade is the second of her career.

Bergsma earned a share of the honor, collecting 60 kills over two matches, averaging 7.50 kills per set and hitting .368 with only 11 errors in 117 attacks.

USF returns to the court this weekend as it travels to the Pacific Northwest to visit Portland and Gonzaga.
