USF Volleyball Signs Chelsey Lowe for 2008 Season

(San Francisco) - USF head coach Gilad Doron has announced the signing of 5-10 outside hitter Chelsey Lowe (Yorba Linda, CA) to a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to play volleyball at the University of San Francisco in 2008. An accomplished offensive player, Lowe was a four-year standout at Esperanza High School and helped the Lady Aztecs capture the 2005 CIF Division I AA title.

"We feel that Chelsea is a great addition to our team," Doron said. "Her personality and passion to for game as well as her skills and competitiveness will be a great addition to USF volleyball."

A four-year letter-winner for at Esperanza, Lowe earned All-Sunset League honors four times, including a first team selection as a senior and also captured team MVP honors after averaging a double-double. Lowe lifted the Lady Aztecs to a pair of Sunset League titles and Esperanza won the prestigious Torrey Pines Tournament twice.

An accomplished club player, Lowe competed for Goldenwest and helped the team to a Junior Olympics runner-up showing in the club division and earned all-tournament honors in the process. Following her sophomore year, helped Long Beach Club to a fifth place showing in the Junior Olympics in Atlanta. Lowe also competed on the beach and won third place in the AAU in Huntington Beach.

A standout in the classroom, Lowe earned All-Academic Team and Principal's Honor Roll selection. Lowe comes from an outstanding volleyball family as her sister, Brittany, is a two-time All-West Coast Conference First Team outside hitter at Santa Clara.
