USF Spirit Squad!
The Spirit Squad is the official combined Cheer and Dance team for The University of San Francisco. The team promotes school Spirit and supports all USF Athletic teams.

Audition
Applicants will be judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship, spirit, and individual applications. Finalists will move on to an interview session the following day. All scores will be cumulative.

Requirements You must be a full-time USF student (Fall & Spring) in good academic standing.

Team members must have flexible schedules for the following:

  • Attend all USF Basketball home games (Men's & Women's) (Schedules posted on the web)
  • Practice three times a week in the evening; subject to change. Extra rehearsals are added as needed. Any dancer missing a rehearsal prior to a game will not be allowed to perform. Any dancer missing multiple games is subject to dismissal from the squad. If you cannot attend the rehearsals and games, please do not audition.
  • Support other USF teams such as Baseball, Volleyball & Soccer
  • Appearances during and prior to the season at other USF Athletic events

The time commitment is usually about 10 hours a week pre-season (6 hours of scheduled team practice & 4 hours of group conditioning). During the season, this number may increase to 16-18 hours a week. All new team members must attend two weeks of intense practice - to be scheduled.

There are no height or weight requirements. Interested participants are encouraged to be in top physical shape. Physical fitness is a plus! Participants may want to enroll in a variety of dance classes to make sure they are up on all types of dance styles.

What To Expect
Bring your completed application and signed medical release form to the table and receive an audition number. Please warm-up while waiting for the audition to begin.
